In 2012 I set out to build the San Francisco flagship store for my friend's streetwear brand Mishka. It would be my own business, operated as a franchise. This was the fourth addition to their existing stores in Brooklyn New York, Los Angeles, and Tokyo. With inspiration from these 3 stores I designed custom fixtures, shelving and displays to fit the space. I worked with local and out of town brand represented artists to create neon signage, hand panted signs, and a mural that spanned the entire length of one wall.

I took measurements of retail spaces I considered leasing and built 3D models of the interiors after my visits. In this way I was able to test different layouts of fixtures and have a virtual walkthrough before we even signed a lease. These models were then used to create plans for the custom fixtures, racks, display cases, counters, signage, and more.
I didn't even have the renderings in mind when I took the photos over a year later, but when I put them side by side I was floored to see just how close they were. It's also interesting to go back and look through the other designs to contemplate ideas that didn't make it into the final design!
